It’s possible that the Hunchback of Notre Dame was, in fact, real. In the 1820’s, when restoration began on the cathedral after the French Revolution, there was a “humpbacked stone carver” according to the memoirs of Henry Sibson. Henry was a sculptor who worked at Notre Dame at the same time that Victor Hugo began writing his famous novel #quasimodo #notredame #paris #parisjetaime #parisian #topparisphoto #visitparis #parismaville #igersparis #loves_paris #igersfrance #hunchbackofnotredame #wanderlust #travel #adventure #passionpassport #instagram #cathedral #intrepidtravel #adventure #instagoodmyphoto #victorhugo #bestintravel #paperart #loves_paris #fact #silhouette #architecture #architecturelovers

"Aww, look at that cute cat in the (Azure) window". This is the highlight of Gozo, a natural wonder formed when two limestone sea caves collapsed. If you recognise it, it might be because it was used as the setting of Daenerys Targaryens’ wedding to Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones. If you’re looking for a place to get married, weddings are allowed here (but perhaps hold back on the hundreds of horses, weapons and fighting though) #azurewindow #gozo #malta #gameofthrones #khaldrogo #Daenerystargaryen #GeorgeRRMartin #HBO #Cat #kitten #cats #wedding #naturalwonder #bride #visitgozo #lovemalta #maltaphotography #visitmalta #instamalta #igersmalta #wanderlust #travel #adventure #passionpassport #travelandlife #intrepidtravel #bestintravel #holiday #vacation #sea

When Charles Lindberg landed at Le Bourget airport at 10:22pm on Saturday, 21st May 1927, he instantly became the most famous man on the planet. No one had ever flown solo, nonstop from New York to Paris before. He had problems finding the airfield though, initially he mistook it for a large industrial complex with bright lights. The lights were, in fact, the headlights of tens of thousands of cars all driven by eager spectators caught in the largest traffic jam in Parisian history #charleslindberg #eiffel #eiffeltower #instaart #paris #parisjetaime #parisian #topparisphoto #visitparis #parismaville #igersparis #loves_paris #igersfrance #citytrip #wanderlust #travel #adventure #passionpassport #instagram #travelandlife #intrepidtravel #adventure #instagoodmyphoto #plane #paperart #loves_paris #aeroplane #silhouette #newyork #nyc #loves_france_

Towards the end of WWI, France built a ‘Second Paris’ near the capital city to confuse German pilots. It was located near the town of Maisons-Laffitte, on a stretch of the River Seine. As well as replicas of iconic landmarks, including the Arc de Triomphe, it even had sham streets lined with electric lights so that from the sky it would look like a real city. The Little Mermaid taking a selfie; Shot for #lpkids (@lonelyplanet's brand for little adventurers). Hans Christian Anderson (who wrote the fairy tale) always took some unusual pieces of equipment with him when he travelled, including a rope in case a fire broke out and he was forced to escape through a window. Fortunately he never needed it #lonelyplanet #copenhagen #denmark #kopenhagen #visitcopenhagen #selfiestick #sea #paperart #sky #VisitDenmark #somewhereincopenhagen #citytrip #instaart #igerscopenhagen #wanderlust #travel #adventure #travelbreak #travelandlife #intrepidtravel
